My friends and I went to LA this past weekend due to cheap-ass plane tickets. We did what we do best in LA which is shopping and eating! It was a fun trip, so fun in fact, I didn’t mind going back to work today. Enjoy the pics!

My family make an annual trip to Boomtown Casino in Verdi, Nevada. Boomtown is one of those hotels on the side of the highway that is built around a theme and you sort of chuckle to yourself, “haha, how cheesy! What kind of people go there?” I ask myself the same thing sometimes =P It’s a small casino that is based on the Western theme (cowboy boot wallpaper and all) that has one table of Paigow (my family’s fave way to gamble) and usually one table of Poker and slot machines. They do really well on live music and best of all, they have an all-you-can-eat lobster buffet. We talk a lot of smack to each other on who can eat the most lobsters but personally, it’s all talk (I ate 2 while the record holder ate 8). Here are some of my fave pictures from the trip:

fob shot!

I’ve been dying to show off these shoes. I got them for $50 bucks at French Connection store in SF during their store closing sale. I had scanned the shoe racks and only after I came around the second time did I see this pair (the only one remotely close to my size) in the bottom corner of the sale rack. It was one of those moments when it felt like a light was shone on me. Yes, I might be a little psycho but me, blog, about shopping, duh.
The rest of my outfit, flowy top from Anthropologie $40, Banana chainlink tank $10, M&O torn white jeans $30, Banana golf cuff link $8, H&M black plastic rings $2, my favorite new appropriately named ‘chicken pox’ bag from Anthropologie $60.

I’ve always had a thing for lace-up boots (last Fall, I was contemplating lace-up Frye boots in past post) but sadly I’ve never been able to find a pair that was both a) my size and b) on sale. I might go out and buy a pair this Fall possibly at… retail price?? GULP. They can make a plain outfit look interesting so it can be worth the investment.
For the Fall, it seems like lace-up boots are becoming more mainstream. Here are some less outrageously-priced (meaning not over $500) lace-up boots:

Same boots from the picture above but not rolled-over, Jeffrey Campbell $298

Sam Edelman $275
I don’t own a pair of shoes that cost more than $150, so the above pairs of shoes will be me making a scary step towards ‘the Dark side’. Realistically, I might be purchasing a shorter lace-up boot for my winter trip to Montana. The BF tells me it’s BRR-tastic in the Winter which is why I’ve been looking for rugged boots but he also condones high heels so we’ll see!

With a ruffled sock, this makes me very excited indeed! Also Jeffrey Campbell $178.
I like going to the city and letting my friends Donna and Nate take care of me =) We walked around the city with absolutely no plans and since they moved into a new loft recently we mostly found ourselves in show rooms and furniture stores around the city. At the end of the day, Donna made dumplings (of which I have zero photos of… too hungry) and I drove home tired and content.

Started things off right with these delicious wings from restaurant called So in ..erm actually no idea which neighborhood we were in- I just followed. Yum, I’m still thinking about these.

I feel for the girl- bad guys suck!

One of the better showrooms (if you had a gajillion dollars!) Inset: Donna and Nate

I absolutely need one of these in the corner of my living room! haha.. it’ll cover half of my living room at least!

Super plush carpet, huuuuge closet, built in awesomeness

I had to take a picture of this fabulous girl! She’s a hardcore motorcyclist.. in pumps! <3

This cute little store in Hayes Valley has definitely peaked my interest in wallpaper.

Catching a break with pear cider and chocolate beignet (not pictured).

Being comfy is key to wandering around SF! Levi’ white tunic $25, Metropark cotton dress $30, flower hair accessory from JCrew $5, vintage scarf, Target leggings $6, and gladiator shoes from M&O $50. Wearing also my favorite watch from Juicy $120 and a H&M bracelet $5.
Ciao, ciao.
I often peruse magazines looking at celebrity spottings and most notably their outfits. I saw a picture of Heidi Klum recently which for me, won Celeb outfit of the year (.. year’s not over though!).

Heidi Klum in a Givenchy jumpsuit
How money was her orange-red pumps to her outfit. Made it!
My BF is a coupon kind of guy. I’m a discount-seeking kind of girl. We bought a bunch of restaurant.com $25 gift certificates for $2 each and headed to a restaurant in DT San Jose on Saturday. It was impromptu and late but I’m so glad we went. We hang out all the time but it’s a little different when we are sitting in front of each other without iphone and TV distractions and we get to have a good conversation.
This is something I threw on in the last minute. I’ve been itching to wear my new French Connection dress:

French Connection dress $40, vintage belt, Lucky boots $100, Anthropologie woven bag $50, Club Monaco bangles $5 each
I think I felt a little too cool in my motorcycle boots.
I’m actually not in heels most of the time (shocker, I know). I feel more incognito when I’m in sneakers and flats, walking in a blur and ok I admit, being a little more comfortable. The other week after my test, the BF and friends and I went to the Giants game at AT&T park in SF. I couldn’t wear any accessories during my test so this is as plain Jane as I will get.

I forget where my top is from but it’s one of those form fitting tanks so I wore a thin lace bra inside from UO. The pants are from UO for $18 (previous post) and the splattered sneakers are Keds purchased from Anthropologie for $20. The belt is my go-to belt from Aldo for $20. It’s falling apart so I’m on the hunt for my next go-to belt. Sunglasses are Calvin Klein’s that the BF bought me that fits my little nose.

Fireworks after the game! (that’s really why I went…)
I’ve been searching the web trying to get inspired to post something but the web is quite unfulfilling today. I couldn’t find a common theme so here are a bunch of random photos from the web and from my own collection.

Kind of hardcore especially for me. Jeffrey Campbell python clogs $109

A piece of chicken I ate over the weekend at the Obon Festival

This will be going up on the wall in my living room one day soon

I need this in order to start re-doing my closet (which I am so embarrassed of because it’s pretty lame right now..). From West Elm for too many bones.

Obsessed with any jewelry bowtie. From Anthropologie for $10
Weird post right?

Between studying, working, and cleaning there must be some fun! Went to the city yesterday and came back with a large bag of goodies and a good size blister on my pinky toe. I decided to wear my green velvet blazer (first purchase from SF H&M) $50 which is really comfy.

My torn white jeans are from M&O for $30 (so sad, closing in a couple of weeks now..) and ruffle tank from Anthropologie for $30.

I love these wedges and they are usually comfortable but my pinky toe didn’t agree yesterday.. MIA wedges $50 from DSW.
I go shopping with a budget and if I exceed my shopping amount of the day, I usually stop shopping and start window shopping. My budget yesterday was spent at French Connection. The FCUK store on Powell was closing its location so additional 50% off everything in the store! The BF and I had just finished eating at my favorite Thai restaurant when we stumbled into French Connection. We didn’t leave for 45 minutes =) Will post the goodies in the future.
After FCUK we had to celebrate our luck with some dessert.

I only eat Beard Papa’s in the city.. I don’t know.. something to do with the nostalgia.
